Project Accountant at Sayed Farms Limited – Ibadan, Oyo State

Sayed Farms Limited seeks a full-time Project Accountant in Ibadan to manage project budgets, financial records, cost monitoring and reporting, working across project, procurement and finance teams.

Job Summary

• Oversee the financial management, cost monitoring, and reporting of company projects.
• The successful candidate will ensure accurate project accounting, effective budgetary control, proper documentation of project expenditures, and compliance with company financial policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor project budgets, expenditures, and financial performance to ensure compliance with approved budgets.
• Prepare project financial reports, cost analyses, budget variance reports, and expenditure summaries.
• Track project-related expenses, commitments, invoices, payments, and outstanding liabilities.
• Ensure accurate recording and allocation of project costs in line with approved budgets and accounting standards.
• Reconcile project accounts, supplier statements, payment schedules, and supporting financial documents.
• Work closely with the Projects, Procurement, Engineering, and Finance teams to validate project costs and monitor spending.
• Support project budgeting, cash flow forecasting, financial planning, and cost-control initiatives.
• Ensure proper documentation, audit readiness, and compliance with internal financial controls and company policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years’ relevant accounting experience, preferably in project accounting, construction, engineering, manufacturing, or agribusiness.
• ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, cost control, financial reporting, and account reconciliation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software/ERP systems.
• Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills, with close attention to detail.
