R&D Officer at Proforce Industries Limited – Ode Remo, Ogun

Proforce Industries Limited is hiring a full-time Research and Development (R&D) Officer at No. 1 Akaka Road, Ode Remo, Ogun State, to contribute to vehicle design, technical research, prototyping and testing.

Responsibilities

• Create, revise and document 2D and 3D CAD models, drawings and specifications for vehicle components, protective kits and subassemblies.
• Assist with construction and field testing of prototypes, assessing structural behaviour, weight distribution and operational performance.
• Research and test materials including armoured steel, composites, ballistic glass and lightweight alloys.
• Reverse-engineer components to identify weaknesses and opportunities for improved strength, weight and manufacturability.
• Analyse simulation, vehicle and blast/ballistic test data and prepare technical reports.
• Collaborate with production engineers, welders, machinists and quality-control teams to translate designs into fabrication.

Requirements

• B.Sc. or HND in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechatronics, Metallurgy, Materials Engineering or a related discipline.
• Two to four years’ hands-on experience in R&D, CAD, mechanical prototyping or vehicle engineering in an engineering or automotive manufacturing setting.
• Competence in CAD software such as SolidWorks, CATIA or AutoCAD, with basic finite-element analysis familiarity.
• Knowledge of chassis, powertrain, suspension, brakes and structural vehicle framing.
• Understanding of material strength, hardness, impact resistance and ballistic/blast-protection principles.
• Familiarity with fabrication, welding joints, machining tolerances and design for manufacturability.
• Ability to prepare bills of materials, engineering change orders, technical instructions and research reports.
• Strong analytical ability, spatial reasoning, attention to detail and collaborative working skills.
