Forton Schools is recruiting a full-time School Cleaner in the Ikotun–Igando area of Lagos. The role maintains hygienic classrooms, offices, toilets and school grounds and requires reliability, punctuality and safe cleaning practices.

Job Summary

• Forton Schools is seeking a hardworking, reliable, and trustworthy School Cleaner to maintain a spotless, safe, and hygienic environment for our pupils, teachers, and visitors.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for the daily sweeping, mopping, dusting, and deep cleaning of classrooms, administrative offices, restrooms, and compound premises.
• Your dedication will ensure our school remains a healthy space where children can learn and thrive safely.

Core Responsibilities

• Daily Cleaning: Sweep, scrub, mop, and vacuum floors in classrooms, hallways, offices, and the staff room before school starts and throughout the day.
• Restroom Hygiene: Clean, disinfect, and scrub student and staff toilets multiple times daily to maintain strict hygiene standards and eliminate odors.
• Dusting & Wiping: Dust and wipe down desks, chairs, windowsills, whiteboards, door handles, and handrails to eliminate germs.
• Waste Management: Empty classroom and office trash bins regularly and safely dispose of refuse in designated outdoor dumpsters.
• Compound Maintenance: Keep the school playground, entrance, and corridors free of litter, leaves, and hazards.
• Supply Tracking: Monitor cleaning supplies (like disinfectants, brooms, soaps, and trash bags) and notify management when items need restocking.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of proper cleaning methods, safe handling of detergents, and hygiene practices.
• Physical fitness and stamina to handle active hands-on work throughout the day.
• Good time-management skills to complete cleaning tasks before school activities begin.
• Ability to read simple instructions on cleaning chemicals and safely follow safety rules.

Education & Qualifications

• Ability to understand and speak basic English or clear local languages for smooth communication with school authority figures.

Requirements (Candidate Profile)

• Must reside within the immediate Igando, Egan, Ikotun, or Alimosho axis to ensure timely arrival at work every morning.
• Must be highly punctual, organized, and exhibit a polite and cheerful attitude around children.
• Excellent moral character with a trustworthy background (references or a guarantor will be required during screening).
