Senior Civil Engineer at an Undisclosed Company via Proten – Lagos
An undisclosed employer is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer in Lagos through Proten International to lead civil, foundation and piling projects from mobilisation to handover.
Responsibilities
- Direct project delivery, site preparation, foundation investigation, piling work and associated geotechnical construction.
- Lead engineers, subcontractors, technical specialists and site staff, allocating equipment, materials and manpower.
- Set project programmes, track milestones, control expenditure and address operational and technical risks.
- Review engineering drawings, calculations, specifications, method statements and contractor work against project requirements.
- Oversee site surveys, piling tests, pile integrity tests and load testing where applicable.
- Coordinate clients, consultants and contractors to resolve site issues and maintain agreed quality standards.
- Manage equipment mobilisation, preventive maintenance, inspections and breakdown responses.
- Maintain project reports, test records, daily logs and close-out documentation.
- Enforce health, safety and regulatory compliance, and mentor junior technical colleagues.
Requirements
- B.Sc, B.Eng or HND in Civil Engineering from a recognised institution.
- Seven to ten years of relevant engineering experience, ideally in piling, geotechnics, foundation or construction delivery.
- Demonstrated capability to manage construction sites, project teams, budgets and subcontractors independently.
- Strong technical understanding of site investigations, foundation design, piling methods, quality control and HSE practices.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and use AutoCAD, Civil 3D or related software.
- Sound leadership, reporting, risk assessment, client communication and problem-solving skills.
- COREN registration, or active progress towards it, is strongly preferred.
- Availability to work on sites and travel when required.
Salary
₦450,000–₦550,000 net per month.
Additional benefits
Leave allowance, a 13th-month salary, appraisal bonuses, weekly site transportation allowance and HMO cover.
