Senior Production Technologist at WAEP – Lagos

West African Exploration and Production Company (WAEP) is recruiting a Senior Production Technologist in Lagos to provide technical direction on well performance, production optimisation, well integrity and intervention opportunities. The goal is safe, reliable and economically sound hydrocarbon production.

Key Responsibilities

• Review production and well-performance data to identify restrictions, losses and improvement opportunities.
• Apply nodal analysis and well modelling to optimise tubing, choke settings, artificial lift and operating strategies.
• Develop and assess well intervention, stimulation, workover and other production-enhancement candidates.
• Provide production technology input to new-well design, completion plans and field development studies.
• Assist in the selection, optimisation and troubleshooting of artificial-lift systems where relevant.
• Interpret well tests, pressure measurements, fluid behaviour and production information to diagnose well and near-wellbore issues.
• Work with Wells and Operations teams on surveillance of well integrity and remediation plans.
• Prepare production forecasts and intervention portfolios, monitoring incremental production delivered.
• Coordinate integrated optimisation across reservoirs, wells, flowlines and production facilities.
• Provide assurance of technical work, mentor junior colleagues and document lessons learned.

Performance Measures

• Additional production and well-performance gains from optimisation.
• Forecast accuracy, successful maturation of interventions and reduced production deferment.
• Technical assurance compliance and the quality of engineering recommendations.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a closely related engineering field.
• A relevant master’s degree is an advantage.
• At least 10–12 years of relevant upstream production engineering or production technology experience.
• Professional engineering certification or membership is desirable.
