Senior Talent Acquisition / Requisition Specialist at WAEP – Lagos

West African Exploration and Production Company (WAEP) is recruiting a Senior Talent Acquisition / Requisition Specialist in Lagos to manage approved manpower requests and recruit technical, operational and corporate talent. The position works within Human Resources (HAM) and reports to the Head, Human Asset Management.

Responsibilities

• Manage manpower requisitions from approval and sourcing through assessment, selection, offers and onboarding.
• Agree position requirements, job profiles, competencies and hiring plans with recruiting managers.
• Design sourcing approaches for scarce technical, specialist and leadership skills in upstream oil and gas.
• Manage recruitment advertising, sourcing channels, professional platforms and candidate databases.
• Assess CVs against established criteria and prepare defensible candidate shortlists.
• Arrange structured interviews, technical tests, panel records, candidate correspondence and selection logistics.
• Complete reference checking, candidate due diligence and verification of education and employment records.
• Assist with remuneration benchmarking, offer preparation and offer management in line with approved frameworks.
• Keep requisition trackers, approval records and interview files current and audit-ready.
• Analyse time-to-fill, talent-pipeline performance, sourcing effectiveness and outstanding recruitment decisions.
• Support proactive specialist sourcing and succession-related talent pools while maintaining policy and equal-opportunity compliance.

Key Performance Indicators

• Time to fill vacancies and quality of successful shortlists.
• Hiring-manager satisfaction, offer acceptance and candidate conversion.
• Accuracy of recruitment metrics and complete, compliant recruitment files.
• Effectiveness of sourcing channels and pipeline development.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, Social Sciences or a related field.
• 10–15 years of progressive recruitment or talent acquisition experience, with strong oil and gas experience, preferably in upstream exploration and production.
• Proven delivery of technical specialist, managerial and senior leadership recruitment.
• Relevant professional certification or membership, such as CPM, SHRM, CPD or equivalent, is strongly preferred.
