Controller, Transport Operations at DP World – Lagos

DP World is recruiting a Controller, Transport Operations in Lagos to coordinate daily fleet movements, maintain transport records and deliver safe, efficient and timely haulage services, including cold-chain logistics.

Responsibilities

• Plan routes, coordinate vehicles and drivers, manage fleet availability and ensure customer orders and delivery targets are met.
• Track trips through EDD, Instanta, I-Manager and vehicle monitoring systems, updating journey status and recording completed movements.
• Verify load destinations, truck weight limits, driving speeds and compliance with service standards.
• Manage fuel allocations, monitor fleet utilisation, operating costs, service mileage and scheduled maintenance.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip briefings, toolbox meetings and inspections of trucks, trailers, vehicle documents and protective equipment.
• Gather proof-of-delivery records, manage fleet files and support daily, weekly and monthly operations reporting.
• Coordinate delivery officers, field staff and client representatives to resolve problems and reduce delays.
• Record incidents, accidents and insurance claims promptly and escalate major issues to the Senior Fleet Controller.
• Maintain health, safety, security and risk-control standards, liaising with HSE teams when needed.
• Support transport recovery, fleet, warehouse and third-party logistics activities and perform additional assigned duties.

Requirements

• BSc or HND in Sciences or Social Sciences with at least Second Class Lower or Lower Credit.
• Certifications listed include CLTD, CILT and Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP).
• Two to five years’ relevant experience in transport, supply chain, fleet or related operations.
• Knowledge of 3PL management, warehousing, fleet and driver management, rescue and recovery operations, and Nigeria’s road network.
• Strong operational planning, recordkeeping, fuel-management, problem-solving and safety capabilities.
