Cost Accountant at an Undisclosed Company via Karisa Consults – Abuja

Karisa Consults Limited is recruiting a Cost Accountant for an undisclosed Abuja-based employer. The accountant will analyse product and operating costs, support budgets and forecasts, reconcile inventories and provide financial insights to procurement and operations teams.

Cost analysis and reporting

• Prepare cost reports for financial planning and budgets.
• Investigate material, labour and overhead variances and explain cost drivers.
• Report margins, breakeven points, periodic cost variances and profitability.
• Evaluate the cost structure and commercial outlook of projects and product lines.

Cost accounting and inventory

• Maintain accurate standard costs and validate cost of goods sold at month-end.
• Apply cost-volume-profit analysis to business decisions.
• Reconcile inventory records and support stock valuations.
• Coordinate physical stocktakes and investigate differences.
• Review purchase orders, input prices, supplier compliance and landed costs.
• Identify slow-moving or obsolete inventory and maintain suitable valuations.

Budgeting and financial controls

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual cost forecasts.
• Support operating budgets, production planning and financial decisions.
• Follow relevant accounting rules, company controls and reporting standards.
• Work closely with procurement, finance and operating teams.

Qualifications and preferences

• B.Sc. in Accounting or Finance.
• Strong financial analysis, variance reporting and cost accounting skills.
• Experience in inventory management and manufacturing cost environments.
• Ability to collaborate across business functions.
• Four or more years of experience is preferred.
