Director of Talent and Organization at an Undisclosed Company via Santus Consulting – Abuja

A diversified group of companies is recruiting its first Director of Talent and Organization in the Central Business District, Abuja, through Santus Consulting. The director will establish and lead the Group Talent and Organisation Department, supporting the holding company, its investment desks, boards and operating subsidiaries across sectors including agriculture, energy, technology, mining, real estate and finance.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee Group recruitment, personally leading executive searches for Directors of Investment, senior leaders, board members and subsidiary chief executives.
• Assess shortlisted candidates, conduct reference checks, manage recruitment partners and maintain selection standards.
• Build the Talent and Organisation Department, define job roles, reporting lines and salary bands, and align appointments with approved budgets and structures.
• Set compensation and reward frameworks, performance standards, probation and confirmation processes.
• Maintain accurate personnel documentation and employment records, working with legal and governance colleagues on contracts, employee relations and disciplinary matters.
• Develop leadership pipelines, workforce capability and succession-planning frameworks across the Group.
• Lead structured, evidence-based candidate assessments and maintain auditable recruitment records.
• Manage multiple senior appointments while upholding sound judgement, transparency and strong reporting standards.

Required experience and capabilities

• Personally completed at least 10 appointments at Director level or above within the past five years.
• Evidence that most of those appointees were still performing satisfactorily in their positions after 12 months.
• Experience in executive search, talent acquisition or recruitment management for large organisations.
• Strong ability to conduct structured candidate assessments, reference checks and senior stakeholder engagement.
• Skill in position design, compensation planning, evidence-based decision-making and confidential documentation.
• Confidence to identify and communicate concerns over senior leadership appointments, including difficult cases.

Remuneration

₦2,000,000 per month.
