Human Resource Manager at Catalyst Path Consulting – Abuja (Real Estate)

Catalyst Path Consulting is recruiting an experienced Human Resource Manager for an Abuja-based opportunity in real estate and property development. Reporting to the Managing Director or Chief Operating Officer, the successful candidate will manage HR strategy and operations, strengthen organisational culture and maintain compliance with applicable labour requirements.

Key responsibilities

HR strategy and organisational development

• Develop HR strategies, workforce plans, organisational structures, policies and employee handbooks aligned with business goals.
• Advise senior management on people management, workforce optimisation and organisational performance.

Recruitment and talent management

• Oversee recruitment, candidate selection, onboarding and workforce planning across Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Project Management, Finance, Administration and Operations.
• Maintain talent pipelines for the real estate business and support recruitment for expansion and project needs.

Employee relations and performance

• Manage employee grievances, disciplinary cases, investigations, conflict resolution and engagement initiatives.
• Develop performance-management systems, departmental KPIs, appraisal processes and improvement plans for underperforming employees.
• Work with department heads to set targets and improve employee productivity and retention.

Payroll, compensation and records

• Oversee payroll accuracy, remuneration structures, benefits, leave, attendance and employee documentation.
• Review compensation approaches and ensure timely and accurate employment records.

Learning, compliance and HR administration

• Identify training needs, coordinate professional development and succession planning, and evaluate training effectiveness.
• Ensure compliance with Nigerian labour laws, employment contracts and company HR policies.
• Oversee employee lifecycle processes, including confirmation, promotion, transfer and separation.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Industrial Relations or a related discipline.
• Five to eight years of progressive HR experience, preferably in real estate development, construction or property management, with practical experience of HR operations in this sector.
• Proven experience establishing HR policies, managing end-to-end recruitment, employee relations, performance systems, compensation and compliance.
• Understanding of real estate workforce structures and recruitment of property managers, sales executives, facility managers, architects, engineers, quantity surveyors and project teams.
• Ability to manage field- and office-based employees and performance measures for sales-driven and project-based teams.
• Good knowledge of Nigerian labour law and HR best practices.
• Strong leadership, negotiation, communication, problem-solving, reporting and confidentiality skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR information systems (HRIS).
• CIPM, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP or an equivalent HR certification is an advantage.

Performance measures

Key measures include recruitment speed and hire quality, retention and turnover, engagement, payroll accuracy, appraisal completion, learning outcomes, HR compliance and workforce productivity.
