Fire & Gas / Technical Safety Engineer via Talent Recruitment 360 – Lagos

A contract engineering position in Lagos is available for a Fire and Gas / Technical Safety Engineer specialising in offshore platforms.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review Fire and Gas system specifications, detector layouts and detection philosophies.
• Assess gas, smoke, flame and heat detector coverage and system effectiveness.
• Review emergency shutdown interfaces, cause-and-effect logic and alarm architecture.
• Contribute to HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, fire and explosion risk studies and evacuation assessments.
• Review fire-protection arrangements, safety analyses and emergency response provisions.
• Work with engineering and HSE disciplines, vendors and commissioning teams.
• Support factory acceptance tests and compliance with IEC, API, NFPA and ISO standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation or related Engineering.
• Eight to twelve years of oil and gas technical-safety, process-safety or Fire and Gas experience.
• Hands-on knowledge of offshore detection, emergency shutdown and safety systems.
• Familiarity with hazard studies, detector coverage and industry standards.
• Offshore platform design, engineering review and commissioning experience is an advantage.
