Internal Auditor at Domeo Resources International – Aba, Abia

Domeo Resources International is recruiting a full-time Internal Auditor in Aba, Abia State to review financial controls, operational processes, risks, compliance and audit findings.

Responsibilities

• The Internal Auditor is responsible for providing independent and objective assurance on the effectiveness of the Company’s financial controls, operational processes, risk management systems and compliance procedures.
• The role involves reviewing financial transactions, conducting operational audits, identifying control weaknesses, investigating irregularities and recommending improvements to safeguard Company assets and improve operational efficiency.
• The Internal Auditor works closely with Management, Finance, Procurement, Stores, Operations, Human Resources and other departments to ensure that Company policies, procedures, financial controls and approved processes are properly implemented.
• Develop and execute internal audit plans based on identified business risks.
• Conduct routine and periodic audits across relevant departments.
• Ensure financial activities comply with approved policies and procedures.
• Verify outstanding deposits, withdrawals and other reconciling items.
• Conduct physical stock counts and inventory verification.
• Review outstanding receivables and payables.
• Review payroll records and supporting documentation.
• Recommend practical improvements to management.
• Review relevant records and supporting evidence.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls.
• Maintain confidentiality of audit information.
• Report outstanding audit issues to Management.
• Request and review relevant records and supporting documents.
• Minimum of 3–5 years’ relevant experience in internal audit, external audit, accounting, finance or compliance.

Requirements

• BSc/HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Audit, or a related discipline.
• Professional qualification such as ICAN, ACCA, ACA, ANAN, CISA or relevant internal audit certification is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, internal controls and audit procedures.
