Group R&D Specialist – Dairy at Promasidor Nigeria – Lagos

Promasidor Nigeria is recruiting a Group R&D Specialist for its Dairy category in Lagos to lead product innovation, formulation, scale-up and commercial launch.

Responsibilities

• Own the multi-year research and development plan for the Dairy category across operating markets, aligning priorities with the brand and commercial strategy.
• Develop costed innovation, product-renovation and value-engineering pipelines, including new ingredients, technologies and processes.
• Lead new-product development from consumer brief and formulation through lab and pilot testing, factory scale-up, sensory validation and launch.
• Maintain technical records, product specifications, bills of materials, shelf-life data and reliable launch handovers.
• Meet applicable product safety, regulatory and labelling requirements, working with Quality and Regulatory on claims, fortification and shelf life.
• Coordinate with Marketing, Procurement, Supply Chain, Operations and Engineering on consumer needs, sourcing, line trials and factory readiness.
• Evaluate flavour systems, emerging technologies and external supplier or co-manufacturer partnerships.
• Lead the category R&D team, define objectives and support professional development and succession.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science and Technology, Food Engineering, Chemistry, Nutrition or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
• Eight to ten years of progressive FMCG research and development experience, with expertise in the relevant product category or a closely related area.
• Hands-on flavour-development experience for the specialist category.
• Experience supervising technical teams and coordinating cross-functional projects.
• Strong product-development stage-gate discipline and consumer and commercial awareness.
