Ascentech Services Limited is recruiting an IT Security Intern in Surulere, Lagos. Support system monitoring, patching, access management, security logs, IT asset records and user helpdesk operations in Surulere.

Job Summary

• The IT Security Intern will support the Security and IT teams in monitoring systems, managing access, updating patches, and protecting company data.
• This role is a hands-on opportunity for a focused and hardworking female graduate to gain practical experience in cybersecurity and corporate IT operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor systems: Watch networks and applications for suspicious activity and alerts.
• Manage access: Handle user account creation, password resets, and access reviews.
• Maintain systems: Deploy security patches, software updates, and antivirus definitions.
• Track inventory: Keep accurate records of hardware, software, and IT licenses.
• Troubleshoot issues: Solve basic hardware, software, network, and security problems.
• Gather logs: Assist with incident investigations by collecting technical logs.
• Build awareness: Promote phishing prevention, strong passwords, and safe data handling.
• Provide helpdesk support: Deliver basic onsite IT support to staff as needed.

Requirements

• Gender: Female candidate.
• Education: B.Sc., B.Tech, or HND in Computer Science (or related IT/Cybersecurity disciplines).
• Experience: 0–1 year of experience (Fresher).
• NYSC: Must have completed the National Youth Service Corps programme.
• Technical basics: Foundational knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, DNS), OS (Windows/Linux), firewalls, encryption, and antivirus tools.
• Soft skills: Strong communication, sharp analytical/problem-solving skills, and great attention to detail.
