Senior Accountant at an Undisclosed Oil and Gas Company via Elizabeth Maddeux – Lagos
An oil and gas company is recruiting a full-time Senior Accountant in Lagos through Elizabeth Maddeux Limited. The role oversees accurate financial reporting, financial controls and the accounting processes supporting upstream and servicing operations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review management accounts, financial statements and monthly financial reports.
- Maintain accounting ledgers, transaction records and reliable supporting documentation.
- Manage payables, supplier payments, receivables, invoicing and settlement tracking.
- Complete bank reconciliations, investigate variances and monitor cash flow and forecasts.
- Support budgets, expenditure reviews and cost analysis.
- Calculate, file and remit applicable taxes in line with statutory requirements.
- Oversee payroll, employee payments and related statutory deductions.
- Maintain internal controls and compliance with company accounting policies.
- Coordinate period-end closing and account for project costs and oil and gas operational expenses.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
- Five to seven years’ relevant accounting experience.
- Experience in upstream oil and gas or oil and gas servicing; EPCI project exposure is an advantage.
- ICAN or ACA professional qualification is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, ERP systems and financial reporting.
- Sound knowledge of IFRS, tax compliance and financial controls, with strong analytical and organisational skills.
