Hospital Accountant at Lagos Executive Cardiovascular Clinic – Lagos

Lagos Executive Cardiovascular Clinic is recruiting a Hospital Accountant in Lagos to oversee accounting operations, financial reporting and healthcare financial controls. This is a full-time, permanent position with standard working hours from Monday to Friday; an immediate start is preferred.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting activities and record financial transactions accurately.
• Maintain financial records and prepare regular accounting reports.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and employee benefits accounting.
• Account for medical inventory, supplies and equipment.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Maintain compliance with applicable healthcare accounting requirements and Nigerian accounting and tax standards.
• Coordinate with external auditors and tax consultants.
• Monitor cash flow, budgets and expenditure variances and support financial planning.
• Maintain accurate patient billing and insurance claims records.

Required qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Professional accounting qualification such as ICAN, ACCA or an equivalent credential.
• Three to five years of accounting experience, preferably in healthcare.
• Knowledge of accounting applications such as QuickBooks, SAP or comparable software.
• Strong understanding of Nigerian accounting standards and tax regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
• Analytical ability, sound judgement, attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Reliability, accountability, professional communication and integrity when handling sensitive financial information.
