Senior Legal Counsel at Western Development Company Limited – Lagos
Western Development Company Limited seeks a Senior Legal Counsel in Lagos to advise the Managing Director on legal and commercial matters, statutory obligations, corporate governance and risk.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice on contracts, transactions, compliance and governance.
- Draft, review and negotiate commercial documents, service agreements and leases.
- Manage regulatory filings, permits, insurance, licences and company-property documents.
- Support board documentation, statutory registers and Corporate Affairs Commission filings.
- Monitor oil and gas compliance requirements and oversee external advisers, disputes and reporting.
Requirements
- LL.B. degree and current qualification as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
- Eight to ten years’ relevant post-call experience.
- Experience in oil and gas, engineering, construction or marine services is desirable.
- Expertise in contracts, compliance, insurance, property law and governance.
- Sound judgement, negotiation, analytical and stakeholder-management skills, with professional integrity.
