Senior Manager, Transaction Operations at MoMo Payment Service Bank – Lagos

MoMo Payment Service Bank, part of MTN Nigeria, is recruiting a full-time Senior Manager, Transaction Operations in Victoria Island, Lagos. The role supports the Head of Banking Operations by ensuring transaction integrity, reliable settlement, effective exception handling and strong operating controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead transaction processing and monitoring across payment channels, maintaining accuracy, security and service levels.
• Oversee settlement and reconciliation with NIBSS, banks, switches and payment partners, resolving outstanding exceptions.
• Investigate failed, pending, reversed and irregular transactions and lead corrective action on recurring issues.
• Manage disputes, refunds, reversals and chargebacks within required timelines.
• Monitor operational controls, financial risks, regulatory compliance and audit obligations, including relevant CBN requirements.
• Improve automation, transaction success rates, resolution times and operating efficiency.
• Work closely with technology, finance, risk, compliance, fraud and customer-experience teams.
• Coach, supervise and develop the Transaction Operations team and report service-performance indicators.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Banking, Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Ten to thirteen years’ experience in payments, transaction processing, banking operations, settlement or digital finance, including at least three years in a management role.
• Experience of high-volume transaction environments, payment switches and partner-bank integrations.
• Knowledge of financial-services regulation and transaction controls.
• Postgraduate qualifications or ACA, ACCA, ACIB, CISA, CRISC, Six Sigma or PMP credentials are an advantage; fintech or banking experience is preferred.
