Assistant Electrical Manager at HBM Nigeria Plc – Sagamu, Ogun State

HBM Nigeria Plc is hiring an Assistant Electrical Manager in Sagamu, Ogun State, to support the safe, dependable and cost-effective operation of electrical and instrumentation systems in its plant.

Responsibilities

• Audit electrical safety devices and sensors, support plant safety improvements and enforce safety rules within the team.
• Plan and prioritise repairs to motors, transformers, switchgear, variable-frequency drives, field instruments, control cards and PLCs.
• Coordinate maintenance schedules and shutdown activities with the Electrical Manager and production planners across the quarry, vertical roller mill, kiln and packing plant.
• Reduce repair turnaround time, external repair costs and plant downtime through responsive fault diagnosis and root-cause analysis.
• Support technical specifications and availability of spare parts; manage E&I consumables and stock levels.
• Prepare annual and monthly electrical-consumables budget forecasts in collaboration with the Electrical Manager.
• Set standards for equipment calibration, testing and refurbishment.
• Train staff in new equipment, safety methods and technical procedures; plan skills development and knowledge transfer.
• Manage team assignments, attendance and discipline, and coordinate external contractors.
• Monitor compliance with environmental and quality systems, including electrical-waste documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
• At least six years of postgraduate experience.
• Good knowledge of electrical and instrumentation systems in integrated cement plants, with basic automation knowledge.
• Familiarity with product quality measures, quality-control tests and computer-assisted kiln and mill operation.
• Initiative and strong problem-solving ability.
