Electrical Engineer at HBM Nigeria Plc – Mfamosing (Akamkpa), Cross River State
HBM Nigeria Plc is recruiting an Electrical Engineer for its cement operation in Mfamosing, Akamkpa, Cross River State. The position applies electrical and instrumentation engineering judgement to the safe operation and maintenance of production equipment.
Responsibilities
- Supervise electrical work and coordinate activities of electrical technicians, following through to task completion.
- Help maintain availability of electrical and instrumentation systems essential to production.
- Ensure predictive and preventive maintenance schedules are carried out correctly.
- Apply health and safety procedures during engineering work.
- Coordinate with the Electrical Planner to secure the spares required for maintenance and repairs.
- Choose and adapt suitable engineering techniques, procedures and criteria for assigned technical tasks.
- Undertake other operational duties as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
- At least four years in a modern integrated cement plant or comparable large-scale industrial operation.
- Knowledge of cement manufacturing, medium- and low-voltage motors, ABB switchgear and 11kV/400V distribution panels and motor control centres.
- Understanding of cement-plant instrumentation and control systems.
- Practical experience with ABB and Siemens variable-frequency or variable-speed drives.
- COREN or NSE membership is an advantage.
