Community Health Worker at a Health and Wellness Clinic – Berger, Lagos

A health and wellness clinic in Berger, Lagos, is recruiting a full-time Community Health Worker through JV Management Consulting. The role involves basic patient care, nursing support and assistance with safe day-to-day clinic operations within the worker’s professional scope.

Patient care and clinical support

• Attend to patients and provide basic nursing support within appropriate professional authorisation.
• Check and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse and breathing rate.
• Assist with patient assessment, documentation, observation and monitoring.
• Administer medicines and carry out basic treatments only where permitted by qualifications and professional authority.
• Assist with wound dressings and other routine nursing tasks where qualified.
• Educate patients on hygiene, nutrition, health, illness prevention and healthy habits.
• Recognise changes in patient condition and report concerns or escalate emergencies promptly.
• Maintain confidential patient records and help keep the clinic clean, safe and hygienic.

Requirements

• At least an OND or another relevant qualification in Community Health or a related healthcare field.
• CHEW or JCHEW certification is an advantage; applicants with suitable nursing qualifications may also apply.
• Previous work in a clinic, hospital or primary healthcare setting is preferred.
• Ability to perform basic nursing tasks safely within the scope of professional training and authorisation.
• Compassionate patient care, sound communication, attentiveness and responsible professional conduct.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a clinical environment.
