Construction Engineer (Formwork Design, Drawings and Supervision) at Migliore Construczione & Tecniche Limited – Gbagada

Migliore Construczione & Tecniche Limited is hiring a Construction Engineer to establish consistent formwork design and supervision standards across its construction projects in NCI, Gbagada, Lagos.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain formwork and falsework standards, detail libraries and site checklists for columns, slabs, walls, beams, staircases and other structures.
• Prepare and review formwork calculations, drawings, temporary works details, propping, bracing, load and striking arrangements.
• Inspect and approve or reject formwork before concrete pours, checking dimensional accuracy, stability, supports, ties and finishes.
• Implement safe working practices, investigate defects and near misses, and oversee the safe dismantling of formwork.
• Train artisans, foremen, site engineers and subcontractors and carry out regular site audits.
• Improve material reuse, storage and cost efficiency while maintaining compliance with BS 5975, BS EN 12812, BS EN 13670 or equivalent standards.

Qualifications and skills

• B.Eng or BSc in Civil or Structural Engineering; an HND may be considered where experience is exceptional.
• Five to eight years of construction experience, including at least three years in formwork design, drawings or supervision.
• Understanding of timber, steel, aluminium and system formwork, falsework and concrete technology.
• AutoCAD proficiency; Revit or comparable software is an advantage.
• COREN registration and NSE membership, or progress towards them, is an advantage.
• Strong site leadership, training, communication, detail orientation and safety management skills.
