Department Manager – Checkout at Sundry Markets Limited – Multiple Locations

Sundry Markets Limited is recruiting ten Checkout Department Managers for Marketsquare stores across Abuja, Lagos, Imo, Edo, Anambra, Delta, Ondo and Ogun. The role leads cashier and porter teams and maintains efficient, accurate customer checkout operations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cashier schedules, break cover and staffing arrangements to maintain smooth till operations.
• Supervise cashiers and porters, ensuring prompt, courteous handling and packing of purchases.
• Oversee checkout housekeeping, trolleys, baskets and service-area readiness.
• Review end-of-day cash-ups, perform spot checks and control change requisitions.
• Resolve customer enquiries about prices, products, loyalty cards, complaints and returns.
• Coach checkout staff in service procedures, customer feedback and exceptional situations.
• Apply controls governing staff purchases and checkout processes.

Requirements

• BSc or HND in a relevant discipline and NYSC discharge, exemption or exclusion documentation.
• At least four years’ experience in customer service operations or banking teller/customer-service work.
• Team leadership, cash reconciliation, scheduling, problem-solving and customer-service ability.
