Mastercard is recruiting a Director for Commercial & New Payment Flows Services Business Development across Africa, based in Lagos (Job ID R-293643).

Business Development and Advisory

• Identify and develop opportunities in corporate cards, virtual cards, SME payments and cross-border commercial flows.
• Advise clients on working capital, payables, receivables, treasury operations and cash-flow optimisation.
• Work with issuers, acquirers, fintechs, ERPs and payment platforms to develop suitable commercial payment solutions.

Solution Design and Delivery

• Lead client engagements on buyer-supplier payment arrangements and working-capital solutions.
• Develop proposals and business cases explaining the value of Mastercard’s B2B payment products.
• Build senior-level relationships and coordinate product, sales, consulting and delivery teams.
• Contribute to industry thought leadership, workshops and market insights.

Required Experience and Skills

• Substantial experience in consulting, professional services, solution selling or advisory business development.
• Strong analytical problem-solving and ability to prepare executive presentations and compelling commercial proposals.
• Project management and PMO skills covering plans, milestones, governance, stakeholders and risks.
• Practical knowledge of card products, payments ecosystems, client onboarding and portfolio growth.
• Excellent senior stakeholder engagement, collaboration and commercial judgement.

Preferred Background

• MBA or equivalent advanced degree.
• Experience in corporate or SME payments, virtual cards, B2B propositions and treasury or working-capital solutions.
• Knowledge of banking, fintech, ERP integrations and regional payment regulations.
