Food Production & Quality Control Officer at The People Office – Berger

The People Office is recruiting a full-time Food Production and Quality Control Officer in Berger, Lagos. The officer will combine hands-on meal preparation with oversight of food safety, consistency, portion control and kitchen production.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and supervise meals using approved recipes and preparation methods.
• Inspect ingredients for freshness and suitability, and monitor food quality from preparation to service.
• Maintain safe handling, hygiene, sanitation, storage temperatures, labelling, stock rotation and expiry checks.
• Monitor portion sizes and ingredient use to reduce avoidable food waste.
• Review meals for taste, presentation and quality before service, reporting any exceptions.
• Record production quantities, ingredient use, wastage and quality concerns accurately.
• Coordinate with kitchen staff to meet service schedules and report equipment or production issues.

Requirements

• Culinary training, a catering qualification or relevant practical experience.
• Three to five years’ experience in food production, catering, restaurant kitchens or quality control.
• Strong cooking and food-preparation skills, with sound knowledge of food hygiene and safe storage.
• Attention to detail, organisational ability and confidence working in a busy kitchen.
• Female candidates are preferred.

Performance measures

Success will be measured through meal consistency, food-safety compliance, accurate portions and records, timely service and reduced wastage.
