General Manager, Production at Dangote Industries Limited – Lagos

Dangote Industries Limited is recruiting a General Manager, Production in Lagos to oversee production activities for Dangote Cement Plc. The position is responsible for efficient clinker and cement output, optimal plant capacity, production planning and leadership of the production team.

Production Planning and Operations

• Contribute to the production strategy for Dangote Cement Plc and translate approved objectives into plant production and capacity plans.
• Develop material requirement plans, allocate production resources and deliver agreed output and quality targets.
• Lead the implementation of production procedures and approved plans across cement and clinker operations.
• Coordinate raw mill, cement mill, kiln-lining repair and packaging operations.
• Work with Maintenance to plan and coordinate production-line shutdowns and related maintenance activities.
• Prepare annual production budgets and manage costs and resources against approved plans.

Leadership and Performance

• Direct, coach and supervise the production team to deliver daily production targets within required quality, budget and time limits.
• Monitor production performance, identify improvements and propose operational enhancements to the Deputy Plant Director, Operations and Maintenance.
• Oversee implementation of approved improvement recommendations.
• Prepare production reports and provide performance information to plant leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
• At least 15 years’ relevant work experience, including five years in a management position.
• Sound knowledge of cement manufacturing, industry trends, regulations and operating challenges.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and relationship-management skills.
• Proven team leadership, supervision, coaching and mentoring capability.
