Manager, Electrical at Dangote Group – Gboko Plant, Benue

Dangote Group is recruiting a Manager, Electrical for its Gboko Plant in Benue State. The role is responsible for maintaining electrical equipment reliability across the cement production process, reducing avoidable power consumption and supervising safe maintenance operations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee routine electrical maintenance from the crusher through the packing plant, including the power plant, to keep production equipment available and operating reliably.
• Coordinate preventive and predictive maintenance programmes with sectional heads and ensure equipment faults are resolved promptly.
• Give technical direction to section operations managers and supervise electrical maintenance staff, providing specialist support when required.
• Monitor electrical spares, stores inventory and material consumption, and safeguard maintenance tools and equipment.
• Liaise with relevant electricity supply authorities, including NEPA/JOS contacts, on grid power utilisation.
• Analyse daily power generation and consumption reports, identify deviations and initiate corrective measures to improve energy efficiency.
• Ensure electrical maintenance follows manufacturer recommendations, company standard operating procedures, applicable safety requirements and industry practice.
• Maintain compliance with NIS ISO 14001:2015 environmental management, NIS ISO 9001:2015 quality management and NIS ISO 45001:2018 occupational health and safety requirements.
• Enforce accident-prevention procedures and occupational health and safety practices.
• Plan on-the-job and classroom training for departmental staff and coordinate delivery of the training calendar.
• Support problem-solving, maintenance improvements and other tasks assigned by management.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree or HND in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 18 years of post-qualification experience.
• Strong knowledge of cement production processes and electrical engineering in an industrial environment.
• Expertise in maintenance management, predictive inspection tools and computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Extensive understanding of industrial automation, electrical equipment reliability, ISO 9000 standards, total productive maintenance (TPM) and safety requirements.
• Effective written and oral communication, collaboration, organisational awareness, initiative and problem-solving ability.
