Geoscientist III at Scruples Resources Limited – Lagos
Scruples Resources Limited is recruiting a Geoscientist III for a contract role in Lagos. The specialist will integrate geological, geophysical, petrophysical, reservoir and production information to support field development, reserves maturation and production optimisation.
Key responsibilities
- Build and maintain geological models incorporating seismic interpretations, petrophysical data, well correlations, reservoir characteristics and production information.
- Integrate static and dynamic data to evaluate reservoir architecture, connectivity, fluid distribution and remaining hydrocarbon potential.
- Identify, assess and mature development and production opportunities, including infill wells, sidetracks and workovers.
- Provide geological input to field development plans, integrated subsurface studies and reservoir-management decisions.
- Lead geological aspects of well maturation and delivery, including targets, forecasts, uncertainty, drilling risks and data-acquisition requirements.
- Support drilling and workovers, evaluate new well data and update geological maps, models and records.
- Prepare and quality-assure well proposals, post-well assessments and end-of-well reports.
- Apply geological risk analysis, participate in assurance reviews and collaborate with engineering, production and wells teams.
- Mentor less-experienced geoscientists and contribute to technical knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- BSc in Geology or a related geoscience discipline; a higher degree or professional qualification is an advantage.
- At least nine years of relevant experience in an operating exploration and production environment.
- At least seven years’ oil and gas industry experience is mandatory for applicants.
- Strong production and reservoir geology, modelling, characterisation, well correlation and field development knowledge.
- Expertise in seismic interpretation, petrophysics, reservoir-engineering interfaces and uncertainty analysis.
- Experience in well planning and operational geological support.
- Advanced proficiency with Petrel or equivalent geological interpretation and modelling software.
- Strong analytical, technical-writing, presentation and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.
