Petrophysicist III at Scruples Resources Limited – Lagos

Scruples Resources Limited is recruiting a contract Petrophysicist III in Lagos to lead subsurface evaluation and provide petrophysical support for exploration, appraisal, development and reservoir management.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and quality-check logging, core and well-evaluation programmes, balancing technical requirements with cost.
• Interpret open-hole, cased-hole, horizontal well and other subsurface data to characterise reservoirs and hydrocarbons.
• Integrate porosity, saturation, pay thickness, pressure and permeability assessments into static and dynamic reservoir models.
• Monitor production, fluid movement and changes in reservoir saturation using well and field information.
• Support drilling programmes, well proposals, workovers, data acquisition and field development planning.
• Maintain petrophysical datasets and provide technical inputs to multidisciplinary teams, peers and joint-venture discussions.
• Coach junior technical professionals and support discipline standards and HSE-compliant operations.

Qualifications and requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or physical sciences; a postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
• Eight to 12 years of relevant petrophysical experience, including at least seven years in oil and gas.
• Strong competence in logging programmes, mud logging, hydrocarbon identification and open-hole and cased-hole interpretation.
• Required experience interpreting and integrating horizontal-well information into subsurface models.
• Experience with an exploration and production operator and multidisciplinary reservoir teams.
• Technical communication, mentoring, interpersonal and analytical skills; drilling or well-site and joint-venture exposure are advantages.
