Head of Engineering at Amel International Services Limited – Lagos

Amel International Services Limited is hiring a full-time Head of Engineering in Lagos. Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain, the role leads mechanical, electrical and automation engineering across food-production facilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the plant’s mechanical, electrical and automation engineering teams and maintain utilities and infrastructure.
• Plan preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance and reduce unscheduled downtime.
• Troubleshoot milling, grinding, sieving, conveying, mixing, packaging and associated production equipment.
• Oversee PLCs, HMIs, variable-frequency drives, motors, control panels, sensors and power systems.
• Direct maintenance of gearboxes, bearings, pumps, compressors, conveyors and rotating machinery.
• Use root-cause analysis and reliability measures such as MTBF and MTTR to improve equipment performance.
• Coordinate equipment installation, commissioning, spare-parts availability and engineering expenditure.
• Develop, supervise and strengthen engineering personnel.

Requirements

• B.Sc., B.Eng. or HND in Mechanical, Electrical/Electronics, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least ten years’ relevant manufacturing or industrial engineering experience, including leadership responsibility.
• Strong experience in FMCG or process manufacturing such as food processing, milling, sugar, salt or flour production.
• Proven expertise across mechanical and electrical maintenance, industrial automation and production-line equipment.
• Experience with commissioning, plant expansion, troubleshooting, reliability programmes and engineering KPIs.
• Good analytical, problem-solving and team-leadership ability.
