Head of Operations at an Oil and Gas Company via Vantegral – Lagos
An oil and gas business is seeking a full-time Head of Operations in Lagos through Vantegral Consulting to direct its downstream petroleum activities, from sourcing and depot management to logistics, compliance and credit control.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily petroleum operations and manage NMDPRA licences, permits, distribution agreements and regulatory documentation.
- Coordinate product procurement, refinery allocations, loading, transport, depot operations, marine movements and delivery schedules.
- Monitor petroleum volumes, product quality, handling safety and operational losses.
- Oversee customer KYC, credit assessments, receivables, collections and debt recovery to protect working capital.
- Develop operating procedures, assess risks, supervise operations and credit teams and deliver management reports.
- Maintain relationships with suppliers, depot operators, transport partners and internal sales and finance teams.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
- At least four years’ experience in downstream petroleum operations.
- Practical expertise in petroleum trading, depot operations, distribution, NMDPRA compliance and marine logistics.
- Knowledge of credit management, regulatory requirements and commercial risk.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, analytical and problem-solving ability; product exports exposure is an advantage.
