Human Resources Manager at an Undisclosed Steel Manufacturing Company via Bretty Consultancy Services – Sabon Wuse, Niger

A steel manufacturing business is recruiting a Human Resources Manager in Sabon Wuse, Niger State, through Bretty Consultancy Services to lead people operations, industrial relations and workforce performance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop HR policies, procedures and workforce plans aligned with company goals.
• Manage hiring, onboarding, deployment, employee relations and disciplinary processes.
• Run appraisals, engagement, staff development and succession planning.
• Oversee pay administration, benefits, leave, HR budgets and staff records with Finance.
• Monitor factory shifts, attendance, overtime and absence, working with Production, Operations and HSE teams.
• Ensure compliance with Nigerian employment laws and promote productivity, workforce wellbeing and safety.
• Provide leadership and reports on personnel risks, retention and organisational development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration or a related field.
• At least ten years’ relevant HR experience, including substantial senior management responsibilities.
• Strong industrial-relations, labour-law and factory workforce management expertise.
• A master’s degree and experience in steel manufacturing or other heavy industry are advantages.
• Professional certification such as CIPM, SHRM or HRCI is an advantage.
• Leadership, negotiation, confidentiality, judgement and communication skills.
