IT Service Engineer at NatCom Development & Investment Ltd (ntel) – Lagos Island, Lagos
NatCom Development & Investment Ltd, trading as ntel, is recruiting a full-time IT Service Engineer on Lagos Island, Lagos. The role provides frontline technical support, maintains enterprise IT infrastructure and supports the reliable operation of network systems and databases.
Key responsibilities
- Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for hardware, software and enterprise applications, including Microsoft 365 and Active Directory.
- Assist with configuring and monitoring LAN/WAN infrastructure, basic routing and switching, and enterprise firewalls.
- Perform routine database administration, write SQL queries, monitor database performance and execute data backups.
- Manage user identities, endpoint provisioning and basic Linux and Windows operating-system maintenance.
- Log, track and resolve IT incidents and service requests within established service-level agreements using enterprise helpdesk tools.
- Monitor network performance and database health to identify and address potential bottlenecks.
- Maintain accurate documentation of IT assets, network configurations and standard operating procedures.
Qualifications and experience
- BSc in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field. Membership of relevant professional bodies is an advantage.
- One to two years of relevant experience, including networking fundamentals such as routing, switching and LAN/WAN; database management and SQL queries; Windows and Linux operating systems; and IT technical support.
- Knowledge of IT software management.
- Familiarity with telecommunications BSS/OSS environments is an advantage.
- ITIL, CCNA or relevant Microsoft, Oracle or database certifications are an added advantage.
