Male Facility / Maintenance Manager at Protea Hotel Lagos Kuramo Waters – Lagos

Protea Hotel Lagos Kuramo Waters is recruiting an experienced Male Facility / Maintenance Manager in Lagos to oversee building infrastructure, hotel equipment, utilities and maintenance operations, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for guests and employees.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the upkeep of hotel buildings and mechanical, electrical, plumbing and air-conditioning systems, generators, lifts and pumps.
• Plan preventive and corrective maintenance, conduct routine inspections and respond promptly to repairs and emergencies.
• Supervise, train and schedule maintenance technicians, assign daily work and monitor performance and safety compliance.
• Coordinate specialised contractors, renovations, installations and improvement projects, monitoring workmanship and timelines.
• Develop budgets, forecast maintenance costs, procure supplies and control equipment and spare-parts inventory.
• Monitor energy use and recurring equipment faults and introduce cost-effective performance improvements.
• Maintain service histories, asset registers, maintenance reports and records of critical repairs.
• Oversee compliance with fire, environmental, occupational safety and equipment inspection requirements.
• Report significant equipment or safety risks and maintenance performance to the General Manager.

Qualifications and skills

• Bachelor’s degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Technology, Facility Management or a related field.
• Five to seven years of relevant experience, preferably in hospitality, including two to three years in a supervisory or management maintenance role.
• Practical knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, generators, electrical systems and building maintenance.
• Experience managing technicians, contractors, projects, budgets and inventories.
• Strong troubleshooting, leadership, planning, report-writing and Microsoft Office skills.
• Ability to manage urgent faults, respond to emergencies and maintain professional safety standards.
• Relevant professional certifications are advantageous.
