Payroll Auditor at Backline Outsourcing – Jabi
Backline Outsourcing is recruiting a full-time, on-site Payroll Auditor in Jabi, Abuja. The auditor examines client payroll records, reconciliations, deductions and internal controls to identify inaccuracies and compliance risks.
Responsibilities
- Review payroll records, calculations, disbursements and supporting documents.
- Confirm payroll tax deductions, benefits and statutory remittances.
- Reconcile payroll to the general ledger and investigate variances.
- Identify duplicate payments, ghost employees and other irregularities.
- Assess payroll controls and propose corrective measures.
- Check compliance with payroll, tax and wage requirements.
- Prepare audit reports, explain findings to clients and management, and maintain audit trails.
- Handle sensitive payroll and employee information confidentially.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
- Four to ten years of experience in payroll audit, payroll processing or related auditing.
- Strong understanding of payroll taxes, regulatory compliance and reconciliation.
- Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with payroll systems such as ADP, Workday or QuickBooks.
- Excellent investigation, analysis, accuracy, communication and problem-solving.
- Ability to work on-site in Jabi, Abuja.
- Experience with US or Canadian payroll, relevant professional certification or data analytics tools is an advantage.
