Auditor (Senior Officer) at Media Trust Limited – Abuja
Media Trust Limited is recruiting an Auditor at Senior Officer grade in Abuja to lead internal audit and control activities, improve governance and support risk management across the media group’s operations.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, implement and regularly review internal control policies and procedures.
- Establish consistent, transparent control systems across relevant departments and business units.
- Oversee cost control, fraud prevention and compliance with applicable legal and regulatory obligations.
- Plan risk-based audit assignments, monitor follow-up actions and assess control effectiveness.
- Review financial and management accounting reliability and investigate fraud-related or sensitive concerns.
- Work with the Board Audit Committee and executive leadership to strengthen governance, risk and controls.
- Coordinate with external auditors on audit findings and taxation matters.
- Support departments in designing self-audit processes and improving control ownership.
- Guide internal audit teams, ensuring professional care, suitable competence and awareness of fraud indicators.
- Develop audit programmes, staff guidance and a group-wide audit plan informed by risk assessments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or HND in a relevant discipline.
- At least five years’ practical internal control and audit experience.
- Experience in media-sector auditing is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage several assignments and respond flexibly to operational demands.
