WTS Energy is recruiting a Principal Geoscientist in Lagos to lead production and reservoir geology, geological modelling, field-development work and integrated subsurface studies.

Job Description

A senior geoscience role based in Lagos, Nigeria, for a Principal Geoscientist with extensive exploration and production experience.

The position centres on production and reservoir geology, field development, well delivery and integrated subsurface studies, and calls for recognised technical depth in geological modelling, reservoir characterisation and geological risk and uncertainty management.

Main responsibilities

• Provide senior geoscience expertise across production and reservoir geology, field development, well delivery and integrated subsurface studies.
• Lead and contribute to geological modelling, reservoir characterisation, depositional systems analysis, well correlation and volumetric evaluation.
• Apply geological risk and uncertainty management to support subsurface decisions.
• Use Petrel or equivalent interpretation and modelling applications to deliver technical work.
• Maintain strong subsurface data-management practices and support integrated subsurface workflows.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Applied Geology or a related geoscience discipline
• Minimum of 15 years’ relevant exploration and production experience
• Substantial depth in production/reservoir geology, field development, well delivery and integrated subsurface studies
• Demonstrated authority in geological modelling, reservoir characterisation, depositional systems, well correlation, volumetric evaluation and geological risk and uncertainty management
• Advanced working knowledge of Petrel or equivalent interpretation and modelling applications
• Strong subsurface data-management practices

Preferred qualifications

• Postgraduate degree in a geoscience discipline
• Professional membership or relevant technical certification.
