Program Officer at Pathfinder International – Kaduna

Pathfinder International is recruiting a Program Officer in Kaduna to build government-led delivery of routine immunisation and HPV vaccination, including sustainable financing, stronger accountability and community demand.

Reports to: Technical Director.

Key responsibilities

• Lead Kaduna State programme implementation through established government health structures, steering groups and community partnerships.
• Coordinate immunisation and HPV vaccination work plans with SMOH, SPHCDA, SERRIC, finance bodies and local government stakeholders.
• Turn DHIS2, eLMIS, supervision, finance and community evidence into practical scorecards, decision records and accountability follow-up.
• Support senior-government engagement, tracking of domestic health funding and integration of school-based HPV vaccination.
• Monitor civil society partner milestones, community dialogues, vaccine confidence activities, defaulter referrals and HPV continuity planning.
• Work with monitoring colleagues on data quality, programme assessments, lessons learned and documented achievements.
• Provide regular programme reports and track corrective actions across the project’s evidence, financing, engagement and demand-generation activities.

Required experience and skills

• Bachelor’s degree in public health, health policy, social sciences, development studies or a related area; a relevant master’s degree is an advantage.
• Minimum five years’ public-health programme management experience in Nigeria, with immunisation, primary healthcare or health-systems experience.
• Demonstrated collaboration with state government institutions and oversight of local partners or subgrantees.
• Ability to interpret routine health, finance and performance data and prepare actionable briefs.
• Excellent English communication and required fluency in Hausa.
• Proficiency in project planning, reporting, stakeholder engagement, Microsoft Office and programme leadership.
