Project and Operational Readiness Manager at Dangote Group – Lagos

Dangote Group is recruiting a Project and Operational Readiness Manager for its production project at NASCON P-Salt Village, Lagos. The role covers project delivery from procurement and equipment installation through commissioning, handover and operational stabilisation.

Project delivery

• Manage project budgets, scope, schedules, key milestones, risks and progress reporting.
• Coordinate suppliers, contract discussions, equipment procurement, factory testing, shipping and delivery.
• Oversee site readiness and multidisciplinary civil, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and automation installation activities.
• Apply engineering specifications, quality controls, health and safety requirements and applicable food-manufacturing standards.
• Monitor contractor costs, invoices, claims and savings opportunities.

Commissioning and readiness

• Lead equipment trials, commissioning, acceptance testing and resolution of technical issues.
• Coordinate employee training, process documentation, change management and operational handover.
• Support post-commissioning stabilisation to meet plant capacity, efficiency, cost and quality targets.
• Improve equipment reliability, process efficiency and waste reduction and report outcomes to executives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or Industrial Engineering or a related discipline; postgraduate education is advantageous.
• Eight to ten years’ engineering or manufacturing project management experience, including at least five years leading equipment installation or factory expansion.
• Demonstrated procurement, commissioning and operational-handover experience in FMCG, food processing or comparable manufacturing.
• PMP or PRINCE2 certification preferred; COREN registration is beneficial.
• Proficiency with MS Project, Primavera P6, Power BI, Excel, supplier negotiations and multidisciplinary team leadership.
