Fixed Asset Accountant, DCT at Dangote Group – Obajana

Dangote Group is recruiting a Fixed Asset Accountant for its DCT operations in Obajana, Kogi State. The role oversees accurate accounting, control and reporting of fixed, intangible and right-of-use assets.

Asset accounting and governance

• Maintain sound policies, documentation and controls for the fixed asset register.
• Oversee acquisition, capitalisation, transfers, disposals, impairment reviews and depreciation of fixed and intangible assets.
• Approve assets-under-construction codes and review project expenditure, allocation and closure.
• Reconcile asset subledgers to the general ledger and prepare audit schedules.
• Review capital spending against approved budgets, assess asset utilisation and support financial decision-making.
• Work with procurement, project, finance and operations teams to safeguard assets and resolve accounting issues.
• Supervise and develop the asset accounting team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, with ICAN/ACCA certification or advanced-stage professional studies.
• At least five years’ experience with large asset registers, work in progress, reconciliations and audits.
• Knowledge of IFRS, particularly IAS 16, IAS 36 and IAS 23, and fixed-asset lifecycle controls.
• Proficiency in SAP and advanced Excel with strong analytical attention to detail.
