School Nurse at Undisclosed Company – Abeokuta

An undisclosed healthcare and educational institution is seeking a part-time School Nurse in Abeokuta, Ogun State, to provide everyday nursing care, first aid and health support for students and staff while collaborating with the College Hospital Doctor.

Responsibilities

• Assess and provide first aid and appropriate routine nursing support for illness and injury within the college.
• Work with the College Hospital Doctor on clinical assessments, treatment plans, follow-up, referrals and emergencies.
• Administer prescribed treatment within professional nursing responsibilities and monitor patients’ progress.
• Maintain confidential consultation, medication, incident, treatment and referral records.
• Communicate with parents, guardians, teachers and management on student-health matters under college procedures.
• Inspect clinic facilities, first-aid supplies and medical equipment and arrange replenishment as needed.
• Promote hygiene, infection prevention, nutrition and health education, including health talks and screening activities.
• Support medical cover for school events, sports and excursions and refer complex cases promptly.
• Comply with NMCN professional standards, clinical confidentiality and college healthcare procedures.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse qualification from a recognised institution and a current Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria registration and practising licence.
• Sound first-aid, infection-control, emergency-response and patient-monitoring knowledge.
• Good documentation, judgement, teamwork, communication and empathy when caring for young people.
• Previous experience in school, paediatric, community, clinical or hospital nursing is advantageous.
