SEO Specialist at Sun King (Greenlight Planet) – Lagos

Sun King is recruiting an SEO Specialist in Lagos to manage organic search strategy for its African country websites, initially including Nigeria, Kenya, Zambia and Tanzania. The position sits within Marketing and works with Digital Communications, Product and Digital Sales teams.

SEO strategy and content

• Own country-level SEO roadmaps and keyword priorities, focusing on commercial opportunities and accurate brand visibility in search.
• Plan and publish search-optimised articles and landing pages, refreshing existing content to maintain performance.
• Explain technical solar products in accessible online content with Digital Communications and Product colleagues.
• Identify website functionality improvements and work with developers to implement them.
• Audit technical SEO, indexation, structured data and site performance and resolve identified issues.
• Develop backlinks and domain authority through media, partner and digital PR relationships.
• Improve Sun King’s visibility in AI-assisted and generative search results.
• Integrate SEO priorities into marketing campaigns and other online or offline initiatives.

Analytics and collaboration

• Track organic traffic, search rankings, conversion performance and website health using analytics and search tools.
• Provide monthly reports and practical recommendations to stakeholders.
• Share insights with Marketing and Sales teams to identify additional keywords and content opportunities.
• Coordinate freelance writers, agencies or external SEO consultants where extra support is required.

Requirements

• At least six years’ hands-on SEO experience, ideally managing websites across several African markets.
• Evidence of increasing organic traffic and conversions through end-to-end SEO programmes.
• Strong technical SEO skills covering audits, indexation, structured data and Core Web Vitals.
• Experience creating and publishing content and explaining technical products clearly in excellent written English.
• Experience securing backlinks through digital PR and partnerships.
• Proficiency with GA4, Google Search Console and search performance reporting.
• Experience working with WordPress or another CMS and collaborating with web development teams.
• Knowledge of the solar sector, consumer products, finance, e-commerce or multi-country websites is advantageous.
• Familiarity with SEMrush, Ahrefs or similar tools; SEO for AI-generated search and French language ability are added advantages.
