Sous Chef via HRD Solutions – Ibeju Lekki, Lagos

A cafeteria in Ibeju Lekki, Lagos, is recruiting a Sous Chef through HRD Solutions. The position supports the Head Chef in kitchen operations, staff supervision and meal service for students, staff and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily kitchen planning, food preparation and meal service.
• Supervise cooks and assistants and help train staff in hygiene and culinary standards.
• Maintain consistency in menu execution, portions, taste and presentation.
• Ensure safe food handling, sanitation and appropriate storage temperatures.
• Coordinate stock control, receiving, FIFO rotation and waste reduction.
• Support catering for meetings, conferences and special events.
• Monitor kitchen equipment condition and report maintenance needs.

Requirements

• Diploma, HND or bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts, Catering Management, Hospitality Management or related field.
• Three to five years’ experience in a commercial kitchen, hotel, restaurant, catering or institutional food service.
• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, stock management and kitchen supervision.
• Previous supervisory experience is preferred; culinary certifications are an advantage.
• Strong organisation, communication and ability to work under pressure.
