System and Customer Reliability Engineer at Alfred & Victoria Associates – Lagos

Alfred & Victoria Associates is hiring a System and Customer Reliability Engineer in Lagos for a hybrid role combining technical customer support, incident response, systems delivery and automation.

Responsibilities

• Own escalated technical incidents across applications, systems and networks, keeping stakeholders updated and meeting SLAs.
• Lead P1/P2 incident resolution, investigate logs and metrics, deploy workarounds and coordinate engineering fixes.
• Prepare root-cause analyses, track corrective actions and address repeated technical problems.
• Plan system changes with risk assessments, rollout and rollback procedures and validation after deployment.
• Deliver installations, integration, functional and load testing, benchmarking and customer acceptance support.
• Develop scripts, tools, dashboards, runbooks and knowledge-base guidance to reduce recurring work.
• Monitor SLIs, SLOs and incident trends, support governance reporting and train L1/L2 colleagues.

Requirements

• First degree in computer science, IT, engineering or a related field.
• Practical background in technical support, site reliability engineering, DevOps or systems administration.
• Advanced TCP/IP, networks, Kubernetes, Docker and cloud/on-premises troubleshooting.
• MariaDB and PostgreSQL administration, database queries and performance support.
• Python, Bash or Go automation, CI/CD, GitHub/GitOps and monitoring tools including Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios, Jira or ELK.
• Understanding of change and incident management, preferably ITIL, plus deployment testing, ETL/data analysis and clear technical documentation.
• The hybrid arrangement combines remote work with on-site visits to customer offices when required.
