Assistant General Manager, Internal Control at SortOut Consult – Lagos

SortOut Consult is seeking a full-time Assistant General Manager, Internal Control in Lagos to lead financial control processes, monitor reconciliations and oversee departmental accountability.

Responsibilities

• Excellent expertise in building human capacity of the Control Officers.
• Ensuring zero tolerance to unposted tickets daily.
• Ensuring daily balancing of all cash and banking transactions.
• Ensuring prompt monthly bank reconciliation statements of all bank accounts.
• Ensuring that all tenants rents and service charges are duly paid upon immediate expiration of the annual rents and service charge paid.
• Ensuring proper documentation of all financial transactions in the company.
• Ensuring that each Leasing Officers, Accounts staff, Operations staff, HR staff etc promptly fulfill their daily and monthly job deliverables.
• Produce timely and quality exception reports to the GGM and the company on weekly and monthly basis.
• Handle other such tasks that may be assigned by the GGM or the company.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Must be an experienced Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent).
• Minimum of 8–10 years’ relevant experience in accounting, internal control, audit or financial management.
• Practical experience supervising Internal Control teams and developing Control Officers.
• Strong expertise in cash management, bank reconciliation, financial reporting and fraud prevention.
• Have practical experience in managing Internal Control teams.
• The Assistant General Manager reports to the Group General Manager, Internal Control, and is responsible for effective implementation of internal controls, accurate reporting, prompt escalation of irregularities, and maintenance of appropriate segregation of duties.
