Assistant Manager, Engineering at Hyatt Regency Lagos Ikeja – Ikeja, Lagos

Hyatt Regency Lagos Ikeja is recruiting an Assistant Manager, Engineering in Ikeja, Lagos, to support the hotel’s engineering and maintenance operations.

Responsibilities

• Support supervision and coordination of daily engineering and maintenance operations.
• Help maintain HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boiler, chiller, elevator, water-treatment, life-safety and building systems.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance for guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house and major equipment.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests, guest issues and emergencies.
• Monitor energy consumption, sustainability measures and maintenance records.
• Support fire and life-safety compliance, building-code adherence and regular risk inspections.
• Lead, mentor, schedule and train technicians and other engineering staff, supporting performance reviews and safe working practices.
• Assist with renovations, engineering projects, capital planning and contractor oversight.
• Check contractor quality, manage tools and spare-parts inventories, and coordinate specialist service vendors.
• Participate in emergency planning and drills, observing environmental and occupational safety requirements and safe handling of hazardous materials.

Qualifications and experience

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil or a related engineering field.
• Three to five years’ technical or maintenance experience in a hotel or similar setting.
• Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of building-management systems, HVAC and life-safety systems is strongly preferred.
• Technical troubleshooting, leadership, communication and team-management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage emergency situations.
• Familiarity with planned maintenance systems, Microsoft Office and ideally CMMS software.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb and lift equipment as needed, and work safely in heat, confined spaces and at heights when required.
