Civil Engineer at Domeo Resources International – Jos, Plateau

Domeo Resources International is recruiting a full-time Civil Engineer for construction and engineering projects in Jos, Plateau State. Reporting to the Project or Construction Manager, the position covers site supervision, planning, design reviews, quality control and safe project delivery.

Construction supervision and technical work

• Coordinate daily site work and supervise subcontractors, artisans, technicians and construction teams.
• Ensure execution follows approved architectural, structural and engineering drawings, specifications, budgets and schedules.
• Review design documents, conduct site assessments, take measurements and support engineering calculations for foundations, structural elements and drainage.
• Identify technical discrepancies, workmanship issues and project bottlenecks and propose corrective measures.
• Inspect concrete, reinforcement, formwork, masonry, roofing, plastering, drainage and construction materials.
• Coordinate material testing and maintain quality-control reports and non-conformance records.
• Plan labour, equipment and material use; track requisitions, wastage, costs and quantities completed.
• Monitor subcontractor obligations and liaise with architects, engineers, quantity surveyors, clients and consultants.

Safety, planning and reporting

• Enforce health, safety and environmental standards, including PPE, toolbox talks, risk assessments and incident reporting.
• Prepare site schedules, progress reports, project records and technical updates.
• Maintain records of labour, material use, inspections and milestones.
• Support construction handover, snagging, rectification and completion documentation.
• Follow applicable Nigerian building regulations, engineering codes and Plateau State building-control requirements.

Qualifications and experience

• B.Eng., B.Sc. or HND in Civil Engineering.
• Three to five years’ relevant experience in construction site supervision or civil engineering project execution.
• COREN registration, NSE membership or postgraduate qualifications are advantages where applicable.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings; working knowledge of concrete, foundations, drainage, quality and site safety.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; Microsoft Project and structural software knowledge are advantages.
• Strong leadership, reporting, coordination, numeracy and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to work primarily on site in Jos, travel to project locations and accommodate varying conditions, schedules and occasional extended hours.
