Head, HR Operations at Pan-Atlantic University (PAU) – Lagos

Pan-Atlantic University seeks a full-time Head of HR Operations in Lagos to lead employee relations, compliance and HR administration in support of academic and non-academic staff.

Key responsibilities

• Lead HR operations staff, service processes, workflows and performance standards.
• Oversee hiring documentation, onboarding, probation, confirmations, renewals and employee exits.
• Manage grievances, investigations and disciplinary procedures, escalating sensitive issues to the HR Director.
• Direct HR records, HR information systems, leave, HMO, pension and insurance administration.
• Check approved payroll inputs and coordinate controls with the Finance team.
• Implement employment policies, regulatory obligations, data protection and HR audit actions.
• Manage workforce reports and HR data quality for planning and decision-making.
• Supervise assigned administrative services, including reception, transport, correspondence and drivers.
• Coordinate relevant health, safety and environmental matters with Facilities and Security and support academic appointments.

Qualifications and requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations or a related field; postgraduate study is an advantage.
• CIPM, CIPD or SHRM membership or professional qualification is preferred.
• At least ten years of progressive human resource experience, including four years in supervision or leadership.
• Strong HR operations and employee-relations experience and understanding of Nigerian employment compliance.
• Higher education experience is advantageous.
• Sound judgement, confidentiality, leadership, conflict resolution, HRIS knowledge and process-improvement skills.
