Head of Research & Strategy at an Undisclosed Financial Services Company – Victoria Island

A financial services group is recruiting a Head of Research & Strategy in Victoria Island, Lagos, through Bridgemead Limited. Reporting to the Group Managing Director, the successful candidate will lead research, investment intelligence and corporate strategy across the group and its subsidiaries.

Key responsibilities

• Direct market, macroeconomic, financial-sector and competitor research, including regular reports, investment briefs and annual outlook publications.
• Monitor monetary and fiscal policy, inflation, rates, currencies and regulatory developments, while maintaining reliable sector coverage and a secure research database.
• Lead company analysis, forecasting and valuation using DCF, DDM, residual income and comparative multiples; review equity research and investment recommendations.
• Provide evidence-based insights to management, relationship teams and retail, high-net-worth and institutional clients.
• Develop group strategy and align subsidiary business plans, resource allocation, growth opportunities and performance targets.
• Assess partnerships, new revenue opportunities, market expansion and corporate-development transactions through feasibility analysis and due diligence.
• Design performance dashboards, track approved initiatives, investigate recurring audit findings and recommend sustainable improvements.
• Lead and train analysts, coordinate the annual research training series and represent the organisation in industry and investor engagements.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Statistics, Mathematics or a related field; a relevant master’s degree is an advantage.
• At least seven to ten years’ relevant experience in investment research, corporate strategy, financial services or business intelligence.
• Strong financial modelling, equity research, valuation, quantitative analysis and economic forecasting skills.
• Experience producing buy-side or sell-side research and recommendations for different investor groups.
• Background in investment banking, asset management or securities is highly desirable; cross-subsidiary experience is beneficial.
• Proven leadership, written communication, presentation, stakeholder management and independent decision-making skills.
