IGCSE English and Literature Teacher at Noble Hall Leadership Academy – Abuja

Noble Hall Leadership Academy for Girls is recruiting a full-time IGCSE English and Literature Teacher in Abuja. Reporting to the Vice Principal (Academics) or Head of Faculty, the teacher will deliver Cambridge IGCSE English Language and Literature, develop students’ analytical and communication skills, and support preparation for external examinations.

Teaching and assessment responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging English Language and Literature lessons aligned with the Cambridge IGCSE curriculum.
• Prepare students for Cambridge IGCSE English Language and Literature examinations.
• Encourage reading, effective writing, literary interpretation and critical thinking.
• Assess learners’ progress, provide feedback and maintain accurate academic records in line with school and Cambridge expectations.
• Differentiate lessons and teaching resources to support students of different abilities.
• Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment activities such as debates and writing clubs.
• Maintain classroom discipline and an effective learning environment.
• Participate in school events, pastoral care and boarding activities as required.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Literature or a related discipline.
• A recognised teaching qualification, such as PGCE, QTS or an equivalent credential.
• At least three years of experience teaching IGCSE English in a British or international school.
• Strong knowledge of the Cambridge curriculum, assessments and examination standards.
• Excellent written and spoken English, organisation and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to teaching and mentoring girls.

Desirable experience

• A master’s degree in a relevant subject.
• Experience teaching A-Level English or working in a boarding school.
• A record of strong Cambridge IGCSE examination results.
